Christmas Story Series | Shaliya Ma - Maple Ridge Secondary

1/4/2017

Since we were free from school for winter break, the first week was so boring that I barely did anything. Every single day I was sleeping, drawing and watching videos and these three activities  formed a circular pattern. But to my  surprise, all my homestay family’s children came back on Christmas, and we were all invited to be in Fahmi's house , my homestay’s oldest child’s place. The day before Christmas I cried to my mom on the phone because I felt lonely and no one talked to me. However, it turns out that Christmas Day was like a gift for me that everyone was around me and we could do whatever we enjoy and chat about everything we interested. At 4 p.m. everyone  drove to Fahmi’s house. We set the table, did the BBQ, although had strong smoke teared me up, it was so much fun because that was my first time to fry the food myself in Canada. We also made the cookie house, I couldn’t remember what the proper name of it, but we set and matched all pieces of cookie together and use sugar glued them up. Some candy balls were used to decorate the roofs and windows. During the process, mine kept on breaking and falling down because my pieces did not fit. I insisted on holding my cookie house for twenty minutes so it would not fall apart. Unfortunately, after everything was all done and when we held plates on the table, my luxury house suddenly fell apart, I was petrified standing beside the table and stared at my poor house blankly, and my mouth was open enough big to hold an egg.  At that moment, I seriously wanted to cry but my eyes were too dry to tear up. I sighed deeply in my heart. However this didn’t affect my happy emotions for Christmas, we were still had time to  play Sequences and lue. And finally we watched the movie also called Clue which is based  the game Clue. I had so much fun and enjoyed the Christmas and everyone was so happy as well.
