Your Score Booster owner Richard Dalton, who has been teaching college-entrance exams since 2005, developed The Dalton Method of test preparation, which includes tips and tricks he developed by analyzing nearly 50 College Board SAT exams. He holds a dual bachelor's degrees in computer science and mathematics and a master’s degree in journalism. Before he began teaching college-entrance exams, he was an award-winning investigative reporter, contributing to several news stories nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. Richard has taught journalism at The State University of New York, helping students improve their grammar and writing. Bill was born in Guangzhou, China and immigrated to Canada at the age of four. He first learnt to teach when he was in the Royal Canadian Air Cadet Program back in high school. He is currently a second lieutenant in the Canadian Forces Cadet Instructors' Cadre, where he teaches and trains cadets. Bill holds a double major in history and English literature from UBC. While doing his degree, he completed his TESL certificate, spending the summer of 2016 teaching English in Kyoto. Bill is currently completing his Bachelor of Education degree at UBC. Darwin graduated from the University Transitions Program at the age of 14, having started his high school degree at 13 years of age and finishing it a year later. He achieved the highest physics and math marks in his class, receiving outstanding achievement in both subjects. Passionate about anything to do with creativity and design, Darwin is currently doing his bachelor’s degree in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and hopes to complete a graduate program in Biomedical Engineering. He is an active member of the UBC Rocket design team, where he engineers multiple smaller rockets to test flight-critical components used in the competition design. In his free time, Darwin is passionate about digital art, illustration, and design. Darwin’s teaching method is primarily focused on problem-solving strategies, a skill that is critical to excelling in the highly theoretical subjects of math and physics. He hopes to help students better understand the high-school system of subject exams and problem sets, and to create greater awareness for different skills not taught in the traditional classroom environment. |

Kimberly graduated with an International Baccalaureate Bilingual Diploma from KIS International School in Bangkok, Thailand. She has always had a keen interest in the medical field and aims to becomes a dermatologist in the future. She participated in the pre-med internship program in Chiang Mai, Thailand to earn first-hand hospital work experience in 2017, and has been working as a Vancouver Coastal Health social worker at George Pearson Center since 2019. Also, she received her advanced first-aid certificate from the Hong Kong St. John Ambulance community. Kimberly is currently in her fourth year at UBC studying biochemistry. She had a strong foundation in both biology and chemistry and is currently conducting a research project at the Michael Smith Laboratory. Moreover, she is passionate about music. She has a ABRAM Level 8 certificate in piano and composed and published her piano classical album when she was 16. Kimberly is fluent in Mandarin, English and Cantonese. With her effective communication skills, she has been teaching maths, science and piano for more than two years and has taught students in Guangzhou, Bangkok, and Vancouver. Her current goal will be pursuing grad school in the biochemistry program at UBC in the near future. |
