In terms of Claude Monet, there are a great many breathtaking masterpieces with different colour matching in his various artistic stages, from the light tone to the significant contrast between tonalities, from the true-to-life feature to abstract characteristics. Similarly, for Emily Carr, we can witness the changes in her works along with the passing of the time, the struggling with her heart disease. From the bottom of my heart, I am really stunned by the power of art, the universal expressing language in the world.

On the third floor are Emily Carr’s paintings whose theme is “Into the Forest.” In my eyes, her paintings are all dreamy and scribbled. It feels like she was addicted to drugs when she was creating those paintings. As a matter of fact, she suffered from severe heart disease and struggled bitterly in her later age, which I have known from her biography. I have to say that her works really originated from her tough life experience.

On the third floor, there were a heap of paintings by Emily Carr. Those paintings in the early stage of Emily are colourful and bright, but those in the later life are dark and scary. I could feel that she really had a hard time with her later life.

That was a scorching day. After waiting in a long queue under dazzling sunlight, we finally got into the Garden. Before entering, I had thought artists in the past all pursued pure spiritual fulfillment. However, to my surprise, that is a spectacular house with an enormous garden with a variety of flowers and water springs. My thought was totally transformed by avoice which said," Monet did not live here when he was young. He lived in the poorest, dirtiest, and lowest place in Paris. Can you imagine? His house is only 10 meters squared!" "What?" I couldn’t believe. All of a sudden, I seemingly understood why Monet chose to live in such a magnificent house.
